
CROSSWORD PUZZLE TO IMPROVE STUDENTS VOCABULARY MASTERY FOR THE SEVENTH GRADE
Assessment is one of some methods that used to get information about
students' performance in the classroom and includes various techniques used to get information about student learning,
such as projects, observations, and paper-based assessments.
The validity aspect of the content
means that the test measures the
content according to the goals that the teacher measured. This study goals to analized the quality of Crossword puzzle to improve
students’svocabulary mastery for the seventh grade of SMP Negeri2 Ngadirejo, based on the relevance of the content.
The researcher analyze the
quality of the
Crossword puzzle to improve students’ vocabulary mastery for the seventh grade
of SMP Negeri 2 Ngadirejo based on aspects of the relevance
of the content and explained
the suitability of the formative assessment of English with the
curriculum. This research is a qualitative descriptive research.
The main source of information for this study was the results of the Formative
Assessment of English Grade 7 of SMP Negeri 2 Ngadirejo, supplemented by other sources
from interviews with teachers.
Researcher used interviews and documentaries as data collection
techniques. The art of data analysis is identification, description
and calculation.
The analysis results are in the form of percentages and descriptions of the validity
of the content of the Negeri2 Ngadirejo. Based on the Crossword puzzle
to improve students’svocabulary mastery for the seventh grade of SMP Negeri 2 Ngadirejo, English analysis conducted by the
researcher showed formative
assessment the relevance of the content was good (80%) and excellent (100%).
Among the assessments analysis
by researcher, there are three assessments which include several
questions that do not meet the syllabus
indicators and the quality of questions that do not meet the criteria.
